A. This is most likely a problem with "Permissions". All users who will be opening a database file on another machine, whether in a peer-peer environment, or a dedicated-server environment, need to have full read/write/create/destroy rights to the entire folder where the database file resides. One way to test this outside of RESUMate is to open Notepad on a machine having problems accessing the database file. Create a short test file (just type the word test), then try saving it to the same folder where the database is. If you get an error trying this, then your permissions are not set properly. Have your network consultant adjust the permissions for this folder, and try again.
A. There may be a setting for your printer driver that needs to be changed. Close RESUMate, and open your Printers folder (Click Start / Printers and Faxes in Windows XP, click Start / Settings / Printers in Windows 98). Right-click on your printer icon and choose Properties. The setting you are looking for should mention TrueType fonts. It may say something like "Always use TrueType fonts", or sometimes "Download TrueType fonts as bitmaps". It may be tricky to find this setting; you might need to look around a bit (check the different tabs on the Properties window; you might need to click a Details... or Settings... button). After making sure this setting is selected, click OK to close the Printer Properties window, then re-start RESUMate.
A. This is an issue with the recent VirusScan Version 7.02 patch. If you contact McAfee, and request a link to the full Version 7.03 package, this problem should be corrected. You can do this through McAfee's Support Forums at the following link: http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=8366
A. There is detailed information on this here.
A. The install program on any CD you received from us before February 25, 2000 will give you this error message. CDs received from us after this date will work fine. If you need a new CD, please send an e-mail to techsupport@resumate.com, or call 1-800-530-9310, Extension 203. There is no charge for this replacement CD, which will be shipped to you by Priority Mail.
A. This is a problem with an older version of the calendar control in RESUMate. You can either download an updated version of the control here, or change the Short Date Style on your computer by following these steps:
- Click on the Start menu, choose Settings and then select Control Panel.
- Double click the Regional Settings icon (the picture of the Earth).
- Click on the Date tab.
- Change the Short date style to M/d/yyyy. Click OK.
- Now restart RESUMate and everything should work fine.
Please Note: Some earlier versions of RESUMate continue to have problems accepting 2000 dates in the Search screen with the Short Date Style fix. In this case, you must download and run the new calendar control patch program.
A. This is due to the setting of "Hide records marked 'Contact Only'" in the Tools/Options window, on the Person Window tab. Usually you want to have this option checked. By doing this, you don't see your company contacts mixed with your candidates. Be assured that if you do a QuickSearch for a person's name, you will find them whether they are a contact or a candidate. Whether you choose to hide contacts or not, making the setting the same for everyone's computer on the network will insure that all record counts are equal.
